Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Nagpur Crime Branch has stepped up its crackdown on drug trafficking, seizing 25 grams of MD-like powder, a mobile phone and a two-wheeler worth a total of around Rs 3.75 lakh during an operation in the Wathoda police station area.
The action was carried out on August 7 between 1.10 pm and 3 pm after the squad laid a trap along the service road near Gauri Family Garden Restaurant on the Pardi-Vihirgaon Outer Ring Road.

Police detained Ejaz Ahmed Sheikh Ahmed (35), a resident of Hasanbagh, Nagpur, in connection with the seizure. According to police, the suspected MD-like substance weighing 25 grams was valued at around Rs 2.5 lakh. A mobile phone worth approximately Rs 25,000 and an Aces moped valued at around Rs 1 lakh were also seized.
Three other suspects, Shahrukh Ahmed Sagir Ahmed (26), Siraj Ahmed Sagir Ahmed (24) and Mohammed Abrar Ansari (25), are reportedly absconding, and police teams have launched a search for them. Police said some of the suspects have criminal cases registered against them in the past.
The accused are being booked under Sections 8(c), 22(b) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The case has been handed over to Wathoda Police for further investigation.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Anti-Narcotics Squad Police Inspector Bharat Kshirsagar, with crucial assistance from the Cyber Cell.
