
After the incident, the frightened girl informed her mother about it over the phone. Her family subsequently lodged a complaint with the Sakkardara police.
According to the police, the arrested accused has been identified as Rajababu Nandlal Giri, 38. He is reportedly a native of Bihar.
According to the complaint, the nine-year-old girl was travelling to school in an autorickshaw when the accused allegedly pinched her leg near the Go Gas LPG pump. She then called her mother and told her what had happened. Her parents later approached the Sakkardara police station and filed a complaint.
During the investigation, an autorickshaw driver also told the police that he had seen the accused pinching the girl’s leg. Based on the girl’s complaint and the eyewitness’s statement, the police registered a case against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections before arresting him.
The Sakkardara police are conducting further investigation into the case.
