Nagpur: The Orange City Water (OCW) which has been implementing Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMCs) ambitious project of providing fully pressurized, uninterrupted water supply commonly known as ‘24×7 water supply project across city- ‘project Nagpur 24X7 Water Supply Scheme’ has been chosen “National Best Practice through PPP mode” by Ministry of Urban Development.
The project was showcased as a model case study in Urban Water Supply sector for replication by other Urban Local Bodies and institution’s during the launch of AMRUT / Smart Cities Scheme at the hands of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recently on 25th June 2015, New Delhi.
The two day event at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, was a grand success and was graced by presence of various dignitaries including Central & State Ministers, diplomats and financial fraternity. The event was able to bring together more than 500 Commissioners, Mayors and Government representatives from numerous Urban Local bodies throughout the country for the National launch of prestigious Central Government initiatives AMRUT & Smart City.
The two flagships schemes will contribute in a major way to change the urban living conditions and landscape. Such schemes have always been drivers for inclusive economic growth.
It gives OCW an immense satisfaction & motivation us further, to learn that our efforts over the last 4 years towards bringing improvement, efficiencies and accountability in the Urban Water Supply are being recognized at a National level.
Thus acknowledging a beginning towards making a difference in the daily life for millions of people.
