Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Rana Pratap Nagar Police have arrested a 19-year-old accused and detained two juveniles for their alleged involvement in a series of thefts across the city. The police have solved nine theft cases and recovered stolen property worth ₹3.18 lakh, including two-wheelers, mobile phones, cash and other valuables.
According to police, the investigation began after a shop was broken into on the night of July 23 in the Rana Pratap Nagar police station limits. The accused allegedly broke open the shop shutter and fled with cash and valuable items.

Following the complaint, police launched an investigation using CCTV footage, technical surveillance and intelligence inputs. Based on the evidence, officers arrested 19-year-old Aryan Nandeshwar.
During interrogation, Aryan allegedly confessed to committing multiple thefts with the help of two juvenile accomplices. Acting on the information provided by the accused, police linked the trio to nine theft cases registered in the Rana Pratap Nagar, MIDC and Bajaj Nagar police station areas.
Police recovered stolen property worth approximately ₹3.18 lakh, including a motorcycle, a Honda Activa scooter, mobile phones, cash and other valuables.
Officials said the investigation is continuing to determine whether the accused were involved in additional theft cases in other parts of Nagpur. Further legal action is underway.
Police have credited the success of the operation to technical investigation, CCTV analysis and coordinated fieldwork, which helped identify and apprehend the accused.
