Nagar Kirtan greeted by hundreds of Sikh devotees on Gurunanak Jayanti in Nagpur

Nagpur News: Sikh community across the city observed Gurunanak Jayanti on Sunday with religious fervor and gaiety. The jovial atmosphere across various gurudwaras in the city was apparent as the streets were laden with traditional procession of Guru Granth Sahib called Nagar Kirtan taken out through prominent places in the city. The rally which was attended by large number of Sikh devotees received grand floral welcome opposite SFS church where Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) general secretary, Nagpur city, Harvinder Singh Mulla greeted the participants with chips packet. Around 5000 packets of chips were distributed by Mulla.

Mulla informed that the welcome ceremony organized opposite SFS Church was also attended by Minister for food and civil supplies Anil Deshmukh, Girish Bang, Ajay Patil, Kishore Kanhere, Juneshwar Pethe, Raju Nagurwar, Pragati Patil, Mahendra Bhange, Rajesh Kumhalkar, Tanu Chaube, Kaka Mulla, Ravinder Singh Mulla, Parag Nagpure, Ishwar Balpande, Vishal Khandekar, Vishal Larorker, Rashpal Singh Mulla and others.

He said that the Nagar Kirtan was started early morning from Baba Budhaji Nagar in Teka Naka and reached Gurudwara Budh Nagar. From there, it proceeded to Gurunanak Darbar at Panchpaoli and then towards Kamptee road Gurudwara. The procession then headed to Ramdaspeth gurudwara where it culminated and a grand langar was organized there.

He said that the Nagar Kirtan traversed through various prominent places from North to West Nagpur. Huge crowd was seen gathering at Kadbi square, Mount Road, Sadar, Rani Jhansi Square, Variety Square and Center Point Hotel square to accord warm reception to Nagar Kirtan.
