Nagpur News : National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore (An Autonomous Body of UGC) shall be visiting G. H. Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women, Nagpur. The country has around 36,000 colleges and less than 15% of them have applied for grading.

Private higher-education institutions account for about 64% of the total HEIs, majority of which do not go for accreditation. The accreditation framework of NAAC is based on five core values such as Contributing to National Development, Fostering Global Competencies among Students, Inculcating a Value System among Students, Promoting the Use of Technology, and Quest for Excellence.

The NAAC has identified the following seven criteria to serve as the basis for assessment of HEIs: 1.Curricular Aspects, 2.Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, 3.Research, Consultancy and Extension, 4.Infrastructure and Learning Resources, 5.Student Support and Progression, 6.Governance, Leadership and Management and 7.Innovations and Best Practices.

The seven criteria represent the core functions and activities of an institution and broadly focus on the issues which have a direct impact on teaching-learning, research, community development and the holistic development of the students. The differential weightages are assigned for each of the seven criteria. Total marks are 1000. Seven criteria have 32 key aspects which are graded on 0-4 scale and then cumulative grade point average is calculated.

NAAC PEER team shall be visiting to Women Engineering established by Raisoni Group of Insitutions which was started in 2008. NAAC PEER team has earlier visited and accredited with “A” Grade to G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur – A Flagship Institution of Raisoni Group of Institutions.
