Mystery shrouds young Railway employee’s suicide in Ajni Quarter

Nagpur: A young Railway employee reportedly committed suicide in his house in Ajni area under mysterious circumstances.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Narayan Verma (25), resident of Ajni Railway Quarter No. RB2/406. According to police, Sanjay Verma was working in Ajni Railway Locoshed. He got the job on compassionate grounds after death his father. Sanjay, as usual, went to duty in the morning and returned home in the afternoon for lunch.

During this period, Sanjay reportedly ended his life by hanging to ceiling fan with the help of a bed-sheet. The bed-sheet was found wrapped over iron wires. The suicide came to notice when the deceased’s younger brother Devendra returned home from college.

He found Sanjay hanging to ceiling fan motionless and started crying loudly. His cries drew attention of neighbours and they gathered at the scene. One of them informed Ajni police who reached the spot immediately. The cops, after preliminary investigation and paper formalities, sent Sanjay’s body to GMCH for post-mortem. The deceased Sanjay Verma originally hailed from Betul in Madhya Pradesh. The reason behind Sanjay’s extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.

Ajni PSI Ghuge has registered a case of accidental death and investigating the matter further.
