Murder accused, 3 others attack brother of deceased to restrain him from appealing in SC

Nagpur: In an atrocious incident, a murder accused and his three accomplices attacked brother of deceased and attempted to eliminate him with the intention of restraining him from appealing in the Supreme Court. The incident took place in Old Kamptee area here on Sunday night.

The complainant Sheikh Salim Sheikh Shabbir (27), resident of Macchipura, Kamptee, told police that around 11.30 pm on Sunday the four accused Samil Kauvva, Bablu Quereshi, Jafar Bodewala and Mujabbil Bodewala accosed him near Goyal Square, Kalamna T-Point, Nagpur-Jabalpur Highway. One of the accused Samil Kauvva told Sheikh Salim that he (Samil) “accepted” his role in the murder of Imran, brother of Sheikh Salim. With this “sort of confession”, Samil Kauvva and the other three accused threatened Sheikh Salim not to appeal in Supreme Court in this connection and suddenly attacked him with iron crowbar (sabbal) and broke his right leg with the intention of killing him.

Old Kamptee WPSI S Mishra, based on Sheikh Salim’s complaint, has booked the four accused under Sections 307, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.
