Nagpur: On the recommendation of ruling party members Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Mayor Nanda Jichkar in the meeting of the Corporators today ordered an inquiry against the Transport Manager Shivaji Jagtap. The inquiry will be done by Additional Municipal Commissioner and the report will be presented in the next meeting. She directed that on being found guilty a legal action to be taken.
NMC had taken the responsibility of the looking after the city transport service since some years. To run the transport service succeessfully it promoted an official of Maharashtra State Transport Corporation and made him the NMC Transport Despartments Chief. But instead of being loyal to NMC and running the transport service successfully it was noticed that this Transport Manager Shivaji Jagtap’s loyalties were towards one particular contractor of Transport company. Transport Manager had been harassing the other transport contractors. He had even been defying the orders of the Transport Chairman which had been creating resentment in NMC. Fed up with this attitude of his all party corporators today in general meeting jointly raised their voices demanding suspension of the Transport Manager.
It may be mentioned that Transport Manager Shivaji Jagtap had been taking decision one sided. He had informers in the transport department along with Transport Chairman’s chamber. Sidelining the Transport Committee the responsibility of running transport service was given to DIMTS but the bank guarantee for the whole project has not been taken. But monthly payment is made for the whole project.

Jagtap has been accused of buying crores of rupees worth ETM machine sidelining the officials and also bungling lakhs of rupees in the Cash Card. He has been held responsible for inconvenience caused to commuters during the agitations held thrice.
Opposition leader Tanaji Wanve demanded action against Jagtap in the house for his misbehaviour with a media person in the DIMTS Project office in presence of Project Chief Amit Hitkari during the winter session.
In Today’s general meeting Jagtap could not give satisfactory answers of the questions raised by Bunty Shelke, Prafulla Gurdhe Patil Balya Borkar, Pravin Bhishikar, Nitin Sathone, Pravin Datke, Manoj Sangole, Kamlesh Choudhary.
Finally, Sandip Joshi taking a serious note of the ruling party and opposition coporators questions and accusing of not replying to 47 letters of Chairman Bunty Kukade, demanded an inquiry against Jagtap by Additional Municipal Commissioner. Mayor ordered the administration to inquire and present the report in the next meeting.
It may be mentioned, Jagtap had come to know about the problem on Friday itself that he would have to face and so was successful in getting the big action suspended. It is shocking that despite being surrounded by questions of ruling and opposition parties a strict action was not taken and kept pending.
