Nagpur: The sleuths of Bajaj Nagar police on Friday arrested a Madhya Pradesh-based-youth for illegal possession of a country-made pistol. The accused identified as Karan Suresh Ivnate was suppose to sell the pistol, however, cops managed to nab him in front of Fuel Headquarter Restaurant in the wee hours of Friday.
According to police, the team of Bajaj Nagar police comprising constables Praful Pawar, Amit Giradkar, Sanju Bhushanam, and Vinod received secret information about the man with illegal possession of a country-made pistol.
Acting swiftly on the information, cops surrounded the man who identified himself as Karan Suresh Ivnate (23), a resident of village Junapani of Pandhurna Tehsil in Chhindwara District (MP) and seized country-made pistol worth Rs 15,000 from his possession.
Cops have booked Karan under Sections 3+25 of the Indian Arms Act read with Section 135 of MPA and placed him behind the bars.
The action was conducted under the supervision of senior PI A R Shirsagar.
