Nagpur: The activists of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Wednesday staged a unique protest at Sitabuldi-based Parking Plaza of Nagpur Improvement Trust by parking over 38 vehicles. When all the vehicles reached the parking area, the Vice President of city MNS Prashant Pawar urged the manager to accommodate big cars such as Fortuner, Duster, Innova, Tata Safari at the parking slot. Taken aback by the situation, the manager told Pawar that such big vehicles cannot be parked due to technical reasons. Such big vehicles cannot be accommodated on lift palate, he said.

When Pawar talked to NIT official Pankaj Ambhorkar, he too accepted that such big vehicles cannot be parked due to technical reasons. The “technical reasons” issue sparked wordy duel between Pawar and the NIT official. The MNS protest at the busy spot resulted in a jam and traffic came to a grinding halt. “If the Parking Plaza, constructed at the cost of crores of rupees to ease parking problem, cannot park big vehicles then what is the use of it for the citizens.

If spending of crores of rupees is not solving the parking problem then the spending of such huge money is useless. This is nothing but cheating of citizens. The matter needs high-level departmental probe,” Pawar argued and added that guilty officials be suspended and a criminal offence should be lodged.

A large number of MNS activists were present on the occasion and staged protest.
