Nagpur: Sakkardara police on Wednesday raided a gambling den and rounded up 17 gamblers. The raiding cops seized cash, mobile phones, gambling material and seven two-wheelers collectively worth Rs 3.42 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of policemen, led by API Keshav Thakre, Beat In-Charge Tajbagh, raided a a dilapidated house in New Bidipeth. The raiding cops found 17 persons busy in gambling acts. All the 17 gamblers were rounded up and cash, 11 mobile phones, gambling material and seven two-wheelers collectively worth Rs 3.42 lakh were seized.
The arrested accused have been identified as Akash Mahadeo Mohadikar (38), Sachin Uttamrao Nitnavre (32), Sayyed Vakil Sayyed Sattar (52), Sabir Khan Pathan Yusuf Khan (32), Sheikh Jalil Sheikh Majjid (40), Arun Maroti Wankhede (52), Shafiq Ansari Vakil Ansari (48), Sunil Pratap Tumane (36), Sayyed Sabir Sayyed Hamid (19), Bahadur Ramsingh Ivnate (35), Manoj Rameshchandra Somkuvar (36), Rambhau Miraji Patil (56), Charandas Laxman Guldhe (51), Ashok Shyamrao Deshpande (65), Abdul Nasir Abdul Sattar (35), Girish Ramesh Ingole (31) and Anil Kashiram Nakhate (56).
All the arrested accused have been booked under Sections 4, 5 of Gambling Act.
