Mission Admission : ITI turns hot destination, Aspiring students 5 times more than seats

The online registration for admissions of the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in the State, which began on, July 10 has been seeing a huge rush of students aspiring to get admission in state-run Industrial Training Institutes in large numbers. The online registeration concluded on July 22,2014.

More than 5000 students have registered online for 1000 seats available.

On July 24, the provisional merit list will be displayed on the official website at 8 am. Students having objections can register their objections on July 24 & 25. The official website is www.dvetadmission.in.

The final merit list of the selected candidates will be announced on July 28. The admissions for the first merit list will be till July 31.

There are total 857 ITI colleges in Maharashtra, of which 407 are Government ITI’s and 450 private institutions. From last year, government ITI’s have started online admission process. Many students faced problems with the online process last year which resulted in many vacant seats..

This year due to the awareness of the online process the ITIs in the state as well as is getting a huge response.

Principal of Government ITI, Nagpur, Lonare informed, “This year the number of applications are much more as compared to what we got last year. The online format has made the process much faster. The academic session is expected to start by August 1.”

A student who has passed his SSC or even VIIIth class passed students is eligible for getting admission into Industrial Training Institute. The duration of a course depends upon the trade opted by the aspirant from a basic course of one year to a diploma of 3 years. Each course is designed to impart basic skills in the specified trade.

Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) provides training for courses in electrical mechanic, Computer Hardware, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, plumber, Carpenter, diesel mechanic, Welder, electrician, fitter etc. Students who are not able to get admissions in Government ITI can apply for admissions in various other private institutes.
