Nagpur: A shocking case involving the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl came to light in Nagpur’s Ambazari area after a 17-year-old girl gave birth to a baby at a Government Medical Hospital, leading to immediate police action.
The incident surfaced after the hospital administration submitted a Medico-Legal Case (MLC) report to Ambazari Police informing them that a minor girl had delivered a child at the hospital.

Since the girl was below 18 years of age, police immediately initiated an investigation under provisions related to sexual offences against minors.
During inquiry, police discovered that both the victim and the accused, identified as Sanjaydas Manikpuri, are originally from Chhattisgarh and were currently residing in Nagpur for labour work.
According to police sources, despite knowing that the girl was a minor, the accused allegedly established physical relations with her, resulting in her pregnancy.
The matter came to light only after the teenager delivered the baby at the Medical Hospital, exposing the alleged crime.
Considering the seriousness of the case, Ambazari Police swiftly detained accused Sanjaydas Manikpuri and began further interrogation.
Police officials confirmed that legal action has been initiated and additional investigation is underway.
Sources said both the minor victim and the newborn baby are currently safe and under medical supervision at the hospital.
