Military engineer sentenced to jail in graft case

Nagpur: A local CBI court today convicted an Assistant Garrison Engineer of Military Engineering Services and sentenced him to two years rigorous imprisonment for allegedly demanding bribe for settlement of a bill of a local supplier.

Special CBI judge V S Murkute convicted Eknath Barku Sonawane and also slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
