
The MRO is constructed by Boeing and handed over to AirIndia. The fully owned subsidiary of AirIndia, Air India Engineering Services Ltd. has been given responsibility to run the MRO. This MRO will cater to both wide body and narrow body aircrafts. It will be targeting business in India as well as in foreign countries within reach of 5 hours air distance from Nagpur.
The trial run was conducted to validate the condition of taxiway, its markings and surrounding clearances, and to check the inner space of hanger of MRO. The aircraft started its run with help of tractor from runway towards MRO on the taxiway and passing through the crossing of Shivangaon road reached MRO smoothly without any trouble.
All the MADC, Air India officials and others present were overjoyed with the arrival of the aircraft. Tanaji Satre, VC&MD of MADC, and Mr. H. R. Jagannath, CEO, AIESL were on board of this aircraft from Mumbai to Nagpur to MRO. Mr. Jagannath was all pleased and satisfied with the condition and quality of taxiway and praised Team MADC for the successful job. Mr. Tanaji Satre also congratulated all his officers, Air India team, contractor of the works and all who contributed to this success.
