Nagpur: A middle aged man has been arrested on the charges of attempt to murder his wife suspecting her character. The incident occurred in Koradi area on Monday evening.
According to police, the accused Devidas Mahadevrao Aage (45), resident of Plot No 10, Kolte Layout, behind Bank of India in Koradi suspected his 43-year old wife Vijaya’s fidelity. The suspicion took an ugly turn when the accused Devidas attacked Vijaya with a spade and hit her on head and hands with an intention to kill her. However, the loud cries of Vijaya for help saved her. She immediately informed about the attack to her relative Yuvraj Pandurang Domke who in turn lodged a complaint with Koradi police in this connection.
Koradi API Kendre, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Devidas Aage under Sections 307, 342 of the IPC and placed him under arrest. Further probe is underway.
