Mayor warns babus to resolve complaints of citizens or face stern action

Nagpur: The Mayor Nanda Jichkar on Wednesday said that Nagpur Municipal Corporation is committed to provide basic facilities to all the citizens. There are lot of complaints regarding water shortage, poor roads, sewer lines etc. It is the duty of concerned officials to resolve complaints of citizens, the Mayor said and warned the babus to either perform or perish.

The Mayor has undertaken “Mahapour Aplya Dari” (Mayor at Your Doorsteps) programme for knowing zone-wise problems and issues being faced by residents. On Tuesday, Jichkar visited Prabhag 25 in Lakadganj Zone and interacted with residents to know their problems. The Mayor was accompanied by Zone Chairman Deepak Wadibhasme, Chairman of Medical Services and Health Committee Manoj Chaple, Corporators Chetna Tank, Vaishali Rohankar, Jaishree Rarokar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ram Joshi, Assistant Commissioner Vijay Humne, and other officials. Present on the occasion was part of this programme.

Jichkar found garbage and waste was not being lifted in time. The filthy condition is taking toll of citizens as they are being hit by various diseases.

At the outset, Mayor visited Pardi’s Bhavan Mandir and took darshan of the deity. She asked the officials to take action against the residents who dump garbage at any place and undertake cleanliness.
