Nagpur: Max Super Speciality Hospital, Nagpur, has taken a major step forward in strengthening cancer care services in the region with the launch of its Centre for High Precision Radiation Oncology. The new centre marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s commitment to delivering world-class, technology-driven cancer treatment closer to home.
The centre was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Kaustav Talapatra, Principal Director – Radiation Oncology and Lead – Academics & Clinical Research, Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai; Dr. Shizan Pervez, Associate Director – Radiation Oncology & Radiosurgery, Max Hospital, Nagpur; and Mr. Ghanshyam Gusani, Vice President & Unit Head, Max Hospital, Nagpur.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Kaustav Talapatra, said, “Equipped with the TrueBeam Linear Accelerator (LINAC), the Centre for High Precision Radiation Oncology represents a major advancement in the delivery of radiosurgery and radiotherapy. This state-of-the-art system enables clinicians to treat a wide range of cancers with sub-millimetre accuracy, ensuring highly targeted treatment while sparing surrounding healthy tissues. The technology also significantly reduces treatment time, improving patient comfort and outcomes.”

The launch event was attended by leading surgeons and clinicians from Nagpur and Max Hospital, Nagpur, who participated in an interactive session with the oncology team and were given a detailed guided tour of the new centre, offering insights into its advanced technology and treatment capabilities.
