Nagpur: A major fire broke out at the Mascot Honda showroom on Hingna-Wadi Road around 8:00 PM on Monday, destroying several two-wheelers and causing losses estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
According to preliminary information, the blaze originated in the showroom’s generator room while staff members were still present inside the premises. Within minutes, the fire spread rapidly, engulfing a large section of the showroom as thick plumes of smoke rose into the night sky, creating panic in the surrounding area.
After receiving information about the incident, personnel from the MIDC Fire Brigade rushed to the spot. However, given the intensity of the fire, additional firefighting units were called in from Hingna Nagar Panchayat, Digdoh Nagar Parishad, Nildoh, and Trimurti Nagar to assist in the operation.

Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly three hours before finally bringing it under control around 11:00 PM. Speaking about the operation, Ravindra Maraskolhe of the Trimurti Nagar Fire Station said that coordinated efforts by multiple fire teams helped prevent the flames from spreading further and causing even greater damage.
Several Honda motorcycles and scooters parked inside the showroom were completely gutted in the fire. The exact extent of the financial loss is still being assessed, but officials believe the damage runs into several lakhs of rupees.
Officials from MIDC Police Station also reached the site shortly after the incident and launched an investigation. While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, preliminary findings suggest that it may have originated in the generator room.
Authorities are currently conducting a detailed inquiry and preparing a damage assessment report to establish the exact cause of the blaze and the total losses incurred.
