6–7 Fire Tenders Deployed; Firefighters Race to Prevent Flames from Spreading to Nearby Factories
Nagpur, November 1: A massive fire broke out at a plastic packaging (bardana) warehouse in the Lakadganj Small Industries Estate in Nagpur on Sunday, triggering panic in the industrial area. The fire quickly intensified due to the large quantity of plastic raw material stored inside the warehouse, sending huge clouds of black smoke into the sky.
Considering the intensity of the blaze, the Nagpur Fire and Emergency Services rushed 6–7 fire tenders to the spot. Firefighters are making strenuous efforts to bring the fire under control by continuously spraying water on the warehouse.
The situation has raised concerns as several plastic-related manufacturing units and factories are located in the vicinity. There is a risk of the flames spreading to neighbouring industrial establishments.
With a substantial quantity of plastic material stored inside the warehouse, firefighting operations have become challenging. Fire personnel are also attempting to retrieve some of the finished goods and manufactured material from the premises.
At present, firefighters are focusing on containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to nearby factories. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be ascertained.
