Nagpur: The city’s market places swelled with the tremendous turnout of the people on Sunday, also the last to proceeding Diwali falling on November 7 this year. The scene is not unusual as the similar trend is being observed every year around Diwali.

The rush is expected to continue on Monday as well on account of Dhanteras – the day considered as the most auspicious for buying goodies, especially gold.

The traders have spruced up their shops while also offering competitive prices and free gifts to take over the online market places.

Prominent market places like Sitabuldi, Mahal, Itwari and Dharampeth remained jam-packed with buyers who turned out in huge numbers to stuff the shops.

Even the city malls saw significant rise in the footfalls as compared to their daily turnouts.
