Nagpur: A 43-year-old man was found dead by the roadside in the Rajiv Nagar area under the jurisdiction of MIDC police station on Monday morning, triggering a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The deceased was identified as Sudhir Mahendra Rajbhan Dwivedi, a resident of Rajiv Nagar.

According to police, the MIDC police received information from the control room at around 8.15 am that a man was lying dead along the roadside in the area. A police team immediately reached the spot, conducted a panchnama and sent the body to a hospital for postmortem.
During the preliminary investigation, police identified the deceased as Dwivedi. Police sources said he was reportedly addicted to alcohol.
Investigators suspect that Dwivedi may have been under the influence of alcohol and could have been struck by an unidentified vehicle while he was on the road in the early hours of Monday. The vehicle allegedly fled the spot after the incident.
However, police have not yet established the exact circumstances or cause of death. The postmortem report is expected to provide crucial information, while investigators are also examining CCTV footage from cameras installed around the area to trace any vehicle that may have been involved.
MIDC police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are conducting further investigation.
