Man defrauds youth with Rs 1.85 lakh on fake promise of job in police department

Gittikhadan police have booked a man who allegedly extracted Rs 1.85 lakh from an unemployed youth on the fake promise of getting him job in police department here. A case of fraud has been registered against Jameel Sheikh who is reportedly involved in misguiding other youths in similar way.

Police sources said Vijay Sahare, resident of Nagbhid in Chandrapur district came in contact with Jameel in February 2010. Vijay was desperately looking for job in police force and this caught Jameel’s attention who cooked up a plan to con him with false job promise. Jameel reportedly told Vijay that he had close proximity with superior officials in police department and that he could manage to get job for him.
In the process of interaction, Jameel repeatedly called Vijay at police headquarters here in order to gain his trust. When Jameel asked for money, Vijay willingly gave him in the hope of landing his dream job some day. Till June 26, 2011, Vijay had reportedly paid Rs 1.85 lakh upon fake job assurance by Jameel.

Later, Jameel started ignoring Vijay, and eventually he came to know that Jameel has been trapping more unemployed men like him.
Getting a whiff of Jameel’s intent, Vijay rushed to Gittikhadan police station and lodged complaint against him. Police have booked Jameel and started their investigation.
