Nagpur: A man was killed when the scooter he was riding was rammed by a speeding truck at Japani Garden Square here on Friday evening. The driver of the killer truck has been arrested.
The deceased Vinod Shravan Rangari, resident of Rambagh, Imamwada, was going on his Pleasure scooter (MH-31/CW 175) towards Gittikhadan area. Around 5 pm, when Vinod neared the Japani Garden Square, a truck (MH-16/EA 2786) driven rashly by Sudhir Lahanuji Chaudhary (31) of Bhivapur Tehsil, crashed onto the scooter. As a result, Vinod suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.
Whether the deceased Vinod was wearing helmet or not could not be ascertained. Gittikhadan police reached the spot and sent body of Vinod to a government hospital for autopsy.
API S V Darekar has booked the truck driver Sudhir Chaudhary under Section 304(A) of IPC and placed him under arrest.
