Six car-borne goons rob truck driver of Rs 10,000 in Kalamna

Nagpur: In a daring daylight robbery, six car-borne ruffians looted a truck driver after beating him and his cleaner severely. The road robbery took place in Kalamna area on Friday evening.

The victim, Thatha Vyenkatesh Rao (41), native of Hujurnagar, Nalgonda (Telangana), along with cleaner, was driving a 12-wheeler truck (AP-24/TC 2480). The truck was proceeding on Jabalpur-Hyderabad Road around 5 pm on Friday. As the truck reached near Kapsi Flyover, suddenly a black-coloured Innova car came in front of the truck forcing the driver to stop the vehicle. A 40-year old man and five others, in the age group of 20-25 years, disembarked from the Innova car. The 40-year old man took the cleaner behind the truck and the five young ruffians started thrashing the truck driver Thatha Rao. The goons snatched Rs 10,000 from pocket of the truck driver and fled the spot by the car.

Kalamna PSI S A Raut has registered a case under Sections 394, 341 of IPC against the road robbers and mounted a search to apprehend them.
