Lady NMC employee tricked, robbed by two bogus cops

Nagpur: In yet another incident of its kind, two fake policemen tricked and robbed a 58-year old woman, an employee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) of her gold ornaments worth Rs 45,000. The two bogus cops are being searched.

The victim Nirmala Ramchandra Sakhre (58), resident of New Indora, behind Jetwan Bouddha Vihar, is working in NMC’s Asinagar Zone Office. On Friday around 6 pm, Nirmala was returning home walking after finishing her duty. As Nirmala reached near Sanjay Gandhi School on Kamptee Road in Jaripatka area, two unidentified persons (around 30 years of age) accosted her. The persons posed themselves as cops and told Nirmala to remove her gold chain and a ring as robberies are taking place in the area. The scared Nirmala removed the gold booty and was keeping it in a bag. At the same time, the two fake cops diverted her attention and pocketed the valuables worth Rs 45,000 and vanished from the scene.

Jaripatka PSI S R Dongre, acting on Nirmala’s complaint, registered a case under Sections 379, 419, 34 of IPC and is searching for the two bogus policemen.
