In a major administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has transferred and reassigned several senior IPS officers across the state, with significant changes made in the Nagpur Police Commissionerate. The reshuffle includes the transfer of senior officers, extension of tenure for key officials, and the appointment of several new Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) in Nagpur.
Lohit Matani Transferred
One of the major changes in Nagpur is the transfer of DCP Traffic Lohit Matani, who has now been posted to the Highway Police, Nagpur. Matani was handling the city’s traffic department and was considered one of the prominent officers in urban traffic management.
Rahul Madne Gets One-Year Extension
The Maharashtra government has also extended the tenure of DCP Zone-3 Rahul Madne by one year. The extension is being viewed as a move aimed at maintaining continuity in policing and law-and-order management in the city.
Nityanand Jha Shifted to Yavatmal
DCP Zone-2 Nityanand Jha has been transferred from Nagpur and appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP), Yavatmal.
Nagpur Gets New Officers
As part of the reshuffle, Nagpur Police has received several new senior officers:
- Aditya Dharmakhelkar, Additional SP, Nashik Rural, has been appointed as DCP in Nagpur City.
- Kumar Chinta, SP Yavatmal, has been transferred to Nagpur as DCP.
- Annapurna Singh, Additional SP, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Rural, has been appointed as DCP in Nagpur City.
Changes in Highway and Anti-Narcotics Wing
Officer Yashwant Solanke, who was serving in Highway Security Nagpur, has now been posted as Additional SP in the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Nagpur.
