Nagpur:
The Mahal area, otherwise known for its powered location as it houses the RSS head quarters – the very power centre of national politics, and Gadkariwada – the residence of political powerhouse, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, has literally gone ‘powerless’ on Monday. Before you run your horses wild and take a different course, let us clear that we are referring to a major power breakdown in the area which plunged the entire Mahal cluster into total darkness. There has been no electricity supply in the area for the last three hours on Monday.

It is learnt that the power failure has been persistent these days in Mahal, thanks to the supply shortage and high demand.

The power failure on Monday is assumed to be because of similar reason, however sources claimed that a transformer breakdown led to the grave situation.

Meanwhile, all shops and homes in the area remained in dark and residents are forced to face the heavy humidity prevailing in the city.

Businesses were also badly affected as people chose to stay out of shops.

The power could not be resumed till the time of filing the report.
