Local Body Tax department conducted Search & Seizure Operation at the establishment named M/s Burhani Maimoon Traders, near Qutabi Manzil Bohra Masjid, loha oli, Itwari, Nagpur. The dealer trading in Hardware goods is registered under LBT. The dealer has imported goods worth Rs. 1.17 crores since inception of LBT but has paid LBT of Rs.0.45 lacs only as against an estimated liability of Rs. 3.51 lacs. The dealer has not disclosed an additional place of business situated at Bohara Masjid Complex, Loha Oli, Itwari, Nagpur. As per LBT Rules, the dealer will now be required to pay penalty @ two times the LBT liability. The dealer has also not filed the annual returns for 2013-14.
Another search operation was conducted on the establishment named Raghukul Construction Pvt. Ltd,188, Aarohi Apatment, Bajaj Nagar, Nagpur; owned by Shri Dilip Bharade. The dealer is Builder. In the action, the deparment has seized the required documents (11files of purchase invoices) as there is doubts about the declaration of LBT taxable turnover in annual return filed for year 13-14. Department will investigate the matter.
