LBT raid on Pixels Scanner

Nagpur: State government took decision to cancel local body tax (LBT) from August 1. But thousands of traders have not paid local body tax on business done upto July 31. Local body tax department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation has started drive against such traders. The department raided M/s Pixels Scanner on Cement Road, New Shukrawari.

The owner of company Mahesh Hedaoo has business of printing plates. But he had not made registration with local body tax department. He had imported goods worth 52 lakh from outside city before July 31. It was necessary to pay 2 lakh local body tax if goods worth over 1 lakh were imported from outside city. The raid was conducted as local body tax was not paid.

M/s Pixels Scanner is engaged in sale and purchase of computers and spare parts. But as this firm had not paid local body tax, NMC department seized record of sale/purchase and other documents. Officials of local body tax department informed that similar action will be taken against those traders who have not paid local body tax.

Vyankat Jichkar, Sanjay Dahikar, Jitendra Tomar, Shailesh Bhardwaj, Amir Hussain and others conducted this raid under guidance of assistant commissioner Milind Meshram.
