Last day of the year ends with third murder in last three consecutive days in city

Nagpur News: Seven cases of murder were reported in the last three weeks. On Wednesday evening, Kalamna police registered the third murder case on third consecutive day.

Post mortem reports helped police to register a murder case in the death of an unidentified middle aged man was found injured and unconscious near Power House Square in Kalamna police station area on Sunday. He was declared brought dead by the doctors at Mayo hospital. Police had initially registered a case of an accidental death.

The deceased was later identified as Devesh Patle, a resident of Yerli in Tumsar. Cops claimed to have rounded-up the alleged accused Rakesh Rahangdale, resident of Yerli.

“ It was learnt that he is a good friend of Patle and was last seen with the victim. We have arrested him under suspiscion. Interrogation is underway,” told police.

Police informed that Rahangdale had brought Patle o city to attend thirteenth day ritual of their late relative.
According to the police information, Rahangdale had some dispute with Patle. He lied to him and brought him to city with intention of killing him. Cops suspect that Patle was hit with a heavy object on head twice causing his death.

Till late night, police has been questioning Rahangdale about Patle’s family background and his dispute with him.
