The land sharks are taking advantage of jobless youths (Aptly called land piranhas) to the hilt and are deploying them in the land grabbing business by making the weakest sections of society their targets. The racketeers gobble up the lands either by muscle power or threatening the land owners of terrible consequences if they fail to hand over their lands at a very very low price.

Nagpur News:

The monstrous unemployment problem is getting more diabolical and more diabolical if the most ominous aspect of it is taken into consideration. The jobless youths are getting trapped in the powerful jaws of land sharks (land mafia) in Nagpur, too, on the lines Mumbai, Delhi and other metro cities. The land sharks are taking advantage of jobless youths to the hilt and are deploying them in the land grabbing business by making the weakest sections of society their targets. The racketeers gobble up the lands either by muscle power or threatening the land owners of terrible consequences if they fail to hand over their lands at a very very low price. However, the role of Nagpur police is being questioned by many citizens who are either victims or are on the verge of becoming the ones.

It would be futile to mention that land cost has been touching skies in the rapidly developing Nagpur which is ideally located in the centre of the country. The land mafia, well-apprised by the fact that no investment is required in the dealings of land, has entered in the business with impunity and resorting to land grabbing by way of mere muscle power. And they have achieved “success” too by targeting the weakest sections of the society who consider, albeit, helplessly, live peacefully rather confronting the muscle power of the mafia. And the mafia is taking the “help” of the jobless youths, who need money in the present situation of rocketing inflation and for fulfilling their day-to-day living, in carrying out the fishy business. The land sharks have not only given “jobs” to needy youths they have turned some their henchmen (Land piranhas) whose only “job” is to roam around the city and see the targets in the form of dilapidated buildings or houses belonging to which kind of people, the movements of people residing in the houses to get apprised the numbers of people, etc.

Once the land mafia comes to know of aged citizens are living in the houses, the henchmen directly visit their houses and tell them “We have purchased your house at such and such cost. Have you agreed for the deal? If you say no then face the dire consequences.” After the “visit” and the “deal” the mafia prepares fake documents of the “purchased house” and lays a siege by keeping the henchmen in the house. The job of the henchmen is create terror among the owners, neighbours and nearby residents by showing their muscle power. The henchmen even party in the house premises with delicious mutton and liquor almost daily. Once under the influence of liquor the goons create such a scene that the weak-minded citizens think twice before confronting the criminals for the fear of their lives. This attitude of people encourages the henchmen of mafia, and in the similar terror tactics, gobble up house after house  of aged people and weaker sections of society on the powers of mafia muscles. The houses, which fell prey to land sharks, are then sold with all fake documents, and that too, with signatures of the real owners. This way several dealings are taking place with transactions amounting to crores of rupees. The “weak” people even don’t approach police, again for the same reason of saving their lives by not confronting with the land mafia by any means. Police, too, file complaints if a citizen dares to, under such sections that the offence turns non-cognisible. The mafia and all the Government agencies like police are hand in gloves or neck deep in shabby deals. A house near the Matey Square is the victim of mafia, the sources informed.

MAFIA TURNING JOBLESS YOUTHS CRIMINALS: The jobless youths, who too, want a luxurious life, get trapped in the jaws of land sharks by carrying out mafia’s nefarious designs. The youths enjoy parties hosted by the mafia with delicious foods and high quality wines, and other “lucrative facilities”. In return, the “land piranhas” find preys for their bosses in the form of houses and lands of poor, weakest sections of society. The mafia sweeps the targeted houses or lands with powerful muscle powers and earn the bounty of in crores. Thus the jobless youths or “land piranhas” turn to crime world consciously at the hands of the mafia. The youths then resort to other crimes, too, to fulfill their die-hard habits of luxury. But the crime pays. Some jobless youths find themselves in jails, and some fall preys to the very crime they committed once their utility is no longer required by the mafia. They are even “assigned the act of eliminating” the mafia’s rivals. It may be recalled, in many instances the property dealers were either killed or attempts were made to eliminate them by the rivals. The link to all these incidents could be found in the jobless youths who “work” for land mafias.

The police, too, find it difficult to pinpoint the criminals in such cases as they don’t possess records of these jobless youths since they are not on the radars of police because they had not committed any crime previously. The new crop of criminals thus easily evade arrest for this terrible lacuna.

Now, time has come to crush the heads of land sharks or turn them toothless sharks by unitedly fighting with them, of course, with the help of honest and powerful police bosses who are in good numbers. Or the time is not far away the Nagpur city would be called the crime city, and its, citizens the gutless lot.
