Kalamna police arrest man for abducting girl, cops still clueless about girl’s whereabouts

Nagpur News: A 29-year-old youth was arrested for luring a girl into marriage, abducting her and then selling her in Rajashtan. The incidence took place in January 2013, police said.

Police said, the accused, Nandu Santlal Gupta (29) lured a 21-year-old girl into marriage and called her at Pardi Naka on January 5, this year. Nandu abducted the girl and sold her at Rs 30,000 in Rajasthan.

On the complaint of relatives of the girl, Kalamna police registered a case and launched a search for Nandu. Police soon nabbed Nandu and took him into custody. Police are grilling him to get more details into the case, but they have not been successful so far. Nandu did not give details of the girl’s whereabouts, the police said. Nandu has been providing misleading information to the cops, the police further informed.

It is to be noted that many cases of abduction of girls were reported in past few months in Kalamna area. Police have suspected Nandu’s involvement in the previous abductions and said that they were on their toes to grab this notorious gang.
