Nagpur: In a moment of immense pride for Nagpur and the nation, globally celebrated record holder Jyoti Amge has received yet another prestigious international honour, as her photograph has now been permanently displayed at the headquarters of Guinness World Records in London.

The recognition marks another milestone in the extraordinary journey of the woman who transformed her rare physical condition into a symbol of courage, confidence and global inspiration.

Born on December 16, 1993, in Nagpur, Jyoti Amge rose to worldwide fame due to her exceptionally short stature. Standing only 62.8 centimetres tall, approximately 2 feet, Jyoti holds the distinction of being officially recognised as the world’s shortest living woman.

Despite numerous physical and social challenges, Jyoti never allowed her condition to limit her ambitions. Instead, through determination, positivity and self-belief, she emerged as an internationally admired personality whose story continues to inspire millions across the globe.

Jyoti first entered the Guinness World Records in 2009, when she was recognised as the “World’s Shortest Teenager” after her height was measured at 61.95 centimetres. Two years later, on her 18th birthday on December 16, 2011, Guinness World Records officially declared her the “World’s Shortest Woman,” with a recorded height of 62.8 centimetres (24.7 inches).

Over the years, her popularity expanded far beyond record books. Jyoti ventured into the entertainment industry and gained international recognition through appearances in television shows and Hollywood productions in the United States. Her vibrant personality, confidence and fearless public presence won admiration from audiences worldwide.

Her latest honour came after Guinness World Records installed her portrait along with details of her achievement at its London headquarters. The development gained global attention after the organisation shared photographs of the installation on its official social media platforms, drawing congratulatory messages and praise from people across different countries.

Speaking about the achievement, Jyoti’s father Kishan Amge said Guinness officials had specially invited Jyoti to London last year, during which the process of installing her portrait at the headquarters was completed.

He described the recognition as a proud and emotional moment for the family. “For a girl from an ordinary family in Nagpur to receive a place of honour at such a globally respected institution is a matter of pride not only for Maharashtra but for the entire country,” he said.

Jyoti Amge’s journey is often seen as a powerful example of how determination can overcome limitations. From a small city in central India to earning global admiration and recognition, her life story reflects resilience, self-confidence and the ability to turn uniqueness into achievement.
