A Magistrate’s court will pronounce its judgment here on Thursday in the blackbuck poaching case against Bollywood actor Salman Khan and others, against whom the trial has been going on since 1998.

Mr. Khan, who boarded a chartered plane from Mumbai, arrived here on Wednesday. Actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam, who will appear in the court as accused along with Mr. Khan for pronouncement of the verdict, also reached here separately by the evening.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (Jodhpur Rural) Dev Kumar Khatri had reserved his judgment on March 28 after completion of final arguments in the 20-year-old case.

Mr. Khan has been accused of killing two blackbucks in Kankani village, near here, on the night of October 1-2, 1998, when he was shooting for Hindi film “Hum Saath Saath Hain”. The other actors were accused of travelling with him in a Gypsy car. All of them allegedly fled when they were chased by the villagers.

Mr. Khan is facing charges under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and the others under the same provision of law read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.
