Dignitaries present on the inaugural function of one day meet on aluminium extrusion in strategic applications and challenges ahead
Nagpur: The Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC) in Nagpur organized one day National Extruders Meet on Wednesday (April 29) with topic being “Aluminium extrusions in the strategic applications and challenges ahead”.
Saurabh Kumar, General Manager, Ordnance Factory, Ambajhari, Nagpur graced the programme as the chief guest. Saurabh Kumar appreciated the efforts of JNARDDC in bringing the billet manufacturers, extruders, die designers, equipment/technology suppliers under a common platform. Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director JNARDDC, in his welcome address, expressed his sincere thanks to the participants who have come all the way from different parts of country.
Ranjit Kapoor, Managing Director, White Metals Limited, as the Guest of Honour, congratulated JNARDDC for their Research and Development efforts in the area of developing process model for die design in extrusion. He said that there is no organised sector in the field of extrusion and no data bank available with the end user.
Speaking further, Sourabh Kumar emphasized on need for scientific approach in the extrusion and designing of die for the extrusion industry.
Representatives from NALCO, Hindalco Industries Ltd, Jindal Aluminium Ltd, Century Extrusions Limited, White Metals Limited, Ordnance Factory, Ambajhari and various machinery and equipment manufacturers, software providers, process instrumentation suppliers actively participated in the lectures and panel discussions.
An MOU was signed between JNARDDC and SeeTech Solution Nagpur in the area of energy efficiency.
The event was being co-ordinated by Dr Anupam Agnihotri, Director JNARDDC, Phiroze Dungore, Divisional Head and V N S U Viswanath Ammu, P. Mahendiran and R N Chouhan from the Downstream Division of JNARDDC.
