Jaripatka cops bust gang of juvenile criminals involved in thefts

Jaripatka police  busted a gang  house-breaking and other thefts.

Jaripatka police on Friday busted a gang of juvenile offenders involved in house-breaking and other thefts. Three juveniles have been detained in this connection and sent to a remand home. Stolen booty worth Rs 1.40 lakh was recovered by the cops.

Jaripatka police received information that some 2-3 juvenile boys were involved in theft cases in their jurisdiction. Acting on the tip-off, a team of policemen, led by PSI S V Raut, went on the trail of the offenders and detained a suspect juvenile and subjected him to interrogation. He buckled under the interrogation and confessed his role in a house-breaking in Mayur Nagar area. Cops recovered three gold rings, silver ornaments, Rs 36,000 in cash and HTC mobile phone purchased out of stolen money from the possession of the detained juvenile. The collective value of recovered booty is Rs 71,000. The detention of the juvenile boy led the cops to detain two other offenders.

The juvenile criminals further confessed their role in snatching of purse from a woman near Union Bank in Jaripatka. Subsequently, stolen material including Rs 10,000 in cash, an Intex cell phone worth Rs 10,000 purchased out of stolen money, another mobile phone of Asus company worth Rs 9,000 and a Honda Shine motorcycle worth Rs 40,000 was seized from the detained offenders.

All the three juvenile criminals are studying and committed the crimes for pleasures. They were produced in a court and sent to a remand home.

The other members of the police team include head constable Gajendrasingh Thakur, NPCs Bandu Kalambe, Nitin Chaudhary, constables Shailesh Kumbhalkar, and Arun Chandne. The task was carried under the guidance of DCP Zone-5 Abhinash Kumar, ACP Ramesh Taywade, and Senior PI Chakshupal Bahadure.
