According to the ACB, a 23-year-old complainant was facing a non-cognisable case at Jaripatka Police Station. The two police personnel allegedly demanded ₹40,000 from him in exchange for helping him in the matter.

Following negotiations, the alleged bribe amount was reduced to ₹20,000. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB and lodged a complaint.

Trap Laid Inside Police Station

After verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap at Jaripatka Police Station. The operation was conducted in the presence of panch witnesses in the accused’s room on the first floor of the police station.

The ACB alleges that Tayde and Meshram acted in collusion and accepted ₹20,000 from the complainant. Tayde allegedly subsequently removed the bribe money from the spot.

The ACB has initiated further investigation to establish the individual roles of both police personnel.

One Arrested, Another Absconding

During the operation, Tayde reportedly developed health complications and was subsequently admitted to Mayo Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Manish Uttam Meshram is reportedly absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him.

A case has been registered against the accused, and the ACB is conducting further investigation into the alleged bribery case.
