Nagpur: International Women’s Day was celebrated in Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) today. The progarmme was organized in the Cultural Building of Headquarters, with the joint efforts of Western Coalfields Limited, Sangini & Smiriti Clubs. First lady of WCL Anita Mishra was the Chief Guest of the programme. While addressing the ladies Mishra called upon the women to work neck to neck with male aspirants. She gave examples of various successful lades and said that today females are progressing in all spheres of life. Mishra also honored Chief of Medical Services of WCL Dr. Bela Bhattacharya and Anju Bose from Umred Area were honored for excellence in work with a certificate of appreciation along with shal, shrifal and bouquet in presence of large number of ladies
To spread awareness on cancer eminent cancer specialist of Nagpur Dr. Prachi Mahajan gave a lecture on the occassion. A quiz was also organized at the end of the programme. Vice Presidents of Jhankar Mahila Mandal Ruby Mishra, Reena Kumar, Anjana Jha and Pragati Lobhane were prominently present. Welocme speech of the program was delivered by Secretary, Sangini Club Simmi Singh and the vote of thanks was proposed by Neera Hirwani. The programme was conducted by Veena Nair.
