Nagpur News Today: Nagpur’s ambitious 24×7 water supply project, which has earned accolades from Delhi, Jaipur and other cities across the country, has prompted group of journalists from France to visit the city. Mayor Anil Sole and the chairman of NMCs water works committee Sudhakar Kohle are unaware of it.

French Company Veolia Water and city’s Orange City water (OCW) have been given responsibility for the project under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The visit had been organized for the journalists to cover the Veolia Water’s role in the project. The journalists are being lodged in a hotel on Wardha Road. When the water works department was contacted for details, they denied any knowledge of such a visit.

According to the rules, permission from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is mandatory for such a visit and coverage. Yet, both the Mayor and the municipality have expressed ignorance of the visit.
