Inspector Praveen Kadam commits suicide at Police Training Centre in Dhule

Dhule: In an incident that sparked sensation in police circles in Maharashtra, a Police Inspector allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at the Police Training Centre in Dhule district, reports said on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Praveen Vishwanath Kadam, purportedly left a note before the incident on Tuesday in which he mentioned that no one should be held responsible for his extreme step, the reports said adding a convocation function has been organised at the Police Training Centre on November 21. Kadam had taken part in its preparation on Tuesday afternoon. He was posted at the Police Training Centre in Dhule since 2019 after he came from Pune.

According to reports, when some of his colleagues found the door of his room locked on Tuesday evening, they knocked at it. As there was no response from inside, they peeped through a window and found him hanging. They immediately alerted Inspector Nitin Deshmukh at the city police station. A police team then rushed to the spot. They found a note in the room, purportedly written by Kadam, in which he mentioned that no one should be blamed for his death.

His family members, who live in Nashik, have been informed about the incident, the police said. A case of accidental death has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, it is not yet clear why police officer Praveen Kadam committed suicide. After this incident, there has been a stir in the police training centre. The exact reason of Kadam’s suicide will be clear only after the investigation.

A convocation ceremony has been organized on November 21 at the Police Training Centre in Dhule. Senior police officers were to be present for this ceremony. For this, a cultural program was also organized for jawans at the Police Training Centre. Preparations for this program were underway at the training centre. Police Inspector Kadam had also attended this preparation in the afternoon.
