Nagpur: Cracking down on illegal hooch dens and illicit breweries on the occasion of Holi, Zone 2 and Zone 5 police teams led by DCP Chinmay Pandit and DCP Harsh Poddar, respectively, conducted raids respectively in Gittikhadan and Kamptee on Thursday and seized illegal liquor to the tune of Rs 2,51,872.
Following a tip-off regarding illegal liquor possession, Zone 2 team, laid a trap in Azad Nagar, Gittikhanad and conducted a raid in a house of accused Prabhudas Meshram. Cops seized country made and english liquor worth Rs 2,31,934 from the house. Also arrested accused Meshram along with his son Ajay and Ashok Pille regarding this connection.

In another significant action against illegal possession of liquor, Zone 5 police conducted a raid in Kamptee and seized country made liquor from a woman’s house.
Zone 5 police have arrested Duga Bandu Aswale. However accused women alleged that she was frame in the crime by Manish Yadav.
Police have registered a case of illegal possession of liquor in both the cases and started the probe.
