Hislop, KDK, Raisoni Academy, Raisoni Engg College reach Semis of Badminton Tourney

Inter-Collegiate Badminton Tournament for Boys.

Nagpur News: The Hislop College, KDK Engineering College, Raisoni Academy and Raisoni Engineering College have reached the finals in the Zones and Semi-Finals of the Main Inter-Collegiate Badminton Tournament for Boys. The Tournament is being organized by RTMNU’s Physical Education Department at Subhedhar  Hall.

In the “A” Zone Semi-Final, Hislop College carved out an easy victory against KITS Engineering College, Ramtek with score margin standing at 2-0. Hislop’s Raghavendra Chati defeated Sagar Singh Janoda of KITS 21-9, 21-9 in the Singles and in the Doubles, the pair of Gourav Rege-Pranav Lokhande beat Atish Chahande-Navneet Bangalkar pair of the KITS 21-7, 21-12. In the other match, Ramdeobaba Engineering College routed T G Patil Engineering College by 2-0. Rajnish Gurbani of Ramdeobaba scored the easiest win against Shubham Chaube of T G Patil College 21-3, 21-4 in the Singles and Ankush Deshmukh-Ankur Gahlot pair of Ramdeobaba defeated Deepak Raut-Shubham pair of T G Patil College 21-7, 24 in the Doubles.

In the “B” Zone, KDK Engineering College also emerged winner in an exciting match against Anjuman Engineering College by 2-0. Rajan Gabhne defeated Mosin Khan 21-12, 19-21, 21-8 in Singles and in Doubles, Vishal Hatwar-Rajat pair fought hard to emerge winner against Imtiaz Khan-Mosin 13-21, 21-19, 21-16. The other match between St Vincent Palotti Engineering College and Institute of Science, St Palotti sweated hard and defeated Institute of Science by 2-1. In the Singles, Parimal Gaidhane beat Palotti’s Manish Hazare 21-14,21-19. However, in the next matches, Palotti’s M Faiz-Manish defeated Ganesh Nitnavare-Parimal 18-21, 21-14, 21-8 and Parag Tyagi scored easy victory against Ganesh Nitnavare 21-12, 21-14.

In the “C” Zone, Raisoni Academy drubbed Datta Meghe Engineering College, Savangi, 2-0. Piyush Deshmukh beat Manoj Zade 21-13, 21-11 and Ishan Gupta-Piyush defeated Swapnil Gathibandhe-Manoj pair in a thrilling match by 19-21, 21-19, 21-12. YCC emerged winner against S D Engineering College, Selu by 2-0. Prateek Kapse beat Roshan Shende 21-13, 21-17 in the Singles and Satyam Singh-Prateek scored an easy victory against Satish Sharma-Roshan 21-10,21-4 in the Doubles.

In the “D” Zone, Raisoni Engineering College carved out an easy win against Dhanwate National College 2-0. Samit Dandawate defeated Ashutosh Bambawale 21-11, 21-6 in the Singles. Samit-Praneet pair routed Palash Zanzal-Ashutosh pair by 21-11, 21-13 in the Doubles. In other matches, Rajiv Gandhi Engineering College, Chandrapur, in an exciting game defeated Priyadarshini Engineering College 2-1. K Vivek Kumar beat Sujit Kumar 21-10,21-15 in Singles. However, in Doubles, Priyadarshini’s Sujit Kumar-Sidharth Singh routed Murlidhar Tiwari-Vevek Kumar 21-19, 18-21,21-10 and equalled the score. In the decider, Rajiv Gandhi College’s Sourav Anand defeated Gafir Adil 21-11, 21-13 and helped his team emerge victorious.
