Himani Fadke swims to clinch 3 gold medals in Inter School Divisional Level competition

Nagpur: Shining bright with flying colors once again, Himani Fadke clinched three gold medals in the Maharashtra State Inter-School Divisional-Level Swimming Competition, held here at the NIT swimming complex on Wednesday. The four-day meet is being jointly organized by District Sports Office, District Sports Council and Nagpur District Swimming Association under the aegis of deputy director of sports, Maharashtra.

Himani, who on Monday launched her campaign with twin gold medals, clinched her third gold medal in the 200 metres individual medley (IM) while competing in the U-17 girls section. The in-form swimmer finished the race in 2 minutes and 40.01 seconds. Pune’s duo of Gautami Agrawal (2:48.85) and Shrushti Patel (3:04.35) won silver and bronze medals, respectively. There were a couple of more medals for Nagpur.

Dhruv Mishra and Aryan Jaiswal claimed a bronze medal each in their respective events. Dhruv, a student of CPS, won the bronze medal in the 200m backstroke in the U-17 boys category with a timing of 2:27.90, while Aryan captured the third position in the 200m freestyle in the U-14 boys category with a timing of 2:23.50.

Continuing her dazzling show, Mumbai’s Aanya Wala notched up another gold medal in the U-14 200m freestyle, while her city counterpart Ariaa Seth finished second and won silver in the same category. Aanya clocked 2:18.23 to gain the top spot. Ariaa followed her for second place with a timing 2:23:77. Pune’s Siya Shetty placed third. A couple of days back Aanya, a student of Bombay Scottish School, created a new meet record in the 400m freestyle event, while Ariaa, VDWS Vidya Mandir, also improved her mark in the same category on her way to claim silver.
