Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) seized 25.430 kg of ganja allegedly being transported to Nagpur for sale during an operation in Palandur, Bhandara district. Two persons were arrested in connection with the alleged ganja smuggling operation.
According to police, ANTF received information that a consignment of ganja was being transported from Odisha to Nagpur via Bhandara in an Eicher vehicle. Acting on the information, the team laid a trap and intercepted the vehicle in Palandur.

During the search, police recovered 25.430 kg of ganja from the vehicle. The seized ganja is estimated to be worth around ₹12.71 lakh, while the total value of the seized property, including the Eicher vehicle, is approximately ₹32.96 lakh.
Two Arrested in Ganja Smuggling Case
The arrested accused have been identified as Gulam Wajid Gulam Wazir, a resident of Zingabai Takli in Nagpur, and Sheikh Shahabaz Sheikh Sarwar, a vehicle driver from Kapil Nagar, Nagpur.
A case has been registered at Palandur Police Station under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Probe Underway Into Nagpur Drug Supply Network
The ANTF Nagpur is now investigating where the 25 kg ganja was supposed to be delivered in Nagpur and who was allegedly behind the drug supply operation.
Police are also probing whether other persons are involved in the alleged Odisha-Bhandara-Nagpur ganja trafficking network. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
