NRHA AGM 2014
Nagpur News : Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nagpur Residential Hotels Association (NRHA) presided by its President Prakash Trivedi held at Hotel Darshan Towers recently.

Members present in the AGM raised the issues of pending renewals of police hotel’s licence, similarly no clearance from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) in regards to Fire NOC.

Likewise recent notices from Food and Drug Department in regards to filing of annual returns by food manufacturers, packers, re-packers, labellers and re-labellers as per the Food Safety and Standards Act and Regulations 2011 (licensing and registration) have to submit the returns in the particular format (form D-1) and owners of milk businesses are submit the returns in half yearly format as given in form D-2 is causing another burdensome procedure, wherein non filing of returns attracts penalty of Rs.100 per day was also discussed.

Tejinder Singh Renu, secretary of NRHA informed the members that irrespective or repeated request for appointment, Municipal Commissioner Shyam Wardhane has till date never given us an opportunity to listen our problems. NRHA had also met K. K. Pathak, Police Commissioner but police department too asked hoteliers to bring Fire NOC in some form of the other, so that they can renew pending police Licences of hoteliers from almost 7-8 years.

However more worrisome situation is that many hotels in the name of guest house, bread n butter or similar have mushroomed in residential areas of the city in past 4-5 years and have all facilities at par with any good hotel and are most likely running without obtaining police licenses, NMC licence, likewise evading luxury tax, service tax, entertainment tax and other similar indirect taxes, thus saving almost 25% cost as compared to licensed hotels causing major business damage and in return also causing major damage to the govt exchequer.

Prakash Trivedi assured members that NRHA is committed to the welfare of its members and any issue which threatens our business shall be dealt strongly.

The other Office Bearers of NRHA present were Inderjeet Singh Baweja – Vice President, Santosh Gupta – Treasurer, Deepak Pandey & Vinod Joshi – Joint Secretaries.

Other members of the NRHA present were S. Y. Warambhe, Rajan Mulani, Deepak Khurana, Mahesh Trivedi, Nitin Trivedi, Rajesh Kilor, C. K. Chaurasiya, Vijay Sawarkar, Vinod Chaurasiya, Murtaza Fidvi, Vijay Jaiswal, Ajay Jaiswal, D. S. Tuli, Manish Jaiswal, K. M. Sharma and others.
