Green Vigil receives Shahu Maharaj Award

Nagpur News: Green Vigil Foundation has fetched yet another award for its remarkable contribution towards environment protection and sustainable development. The organization has been awarded with Samaj Bhushan Rajashree Shahu Maharaj award by Sugat Jaycees.

Yeshwant Telang, President Sugat Jaycees handed over the award to Kaustav Chatterjee. Annaji Rajedhar, Bhau Anand Wankhede  and others were present on the occasion.

Chatterjee along with Dr. Kavita Rattan led Green Vigil Foundation to work towards cause of environment protection and made significant contribution towards building awareness in communities, implementing environmental education programmes and conducting innovative research programmes for lake rejuvenation.

The organization has implemented environmental sustainability initiatives that have reached out to more than 2,50,000 citizens directly through numerous awareness and education programs, besides undertaking various education programs across Central India that engage more than 20,000 students in various schools and colleges. With a team strength of more than 40 postgraduate and graduate members, Green Vigil Foundation is implementing various projects in Central India including Nagpur, Amravati, Wardha and Chandrapur that engage and mobilize citizens on environmental protection and sustainability. The Foundations’ focus is on involving local communities in preserving ecosystems & natural resources as a prerequisite to sustainability.
