Green Vigil awarded Best NGO Award by NMC

GreenVigilGreen Vigil Foundation, a well known NGO of Nagpur, working in the field of environment protection and sustainable development, has been awarded Best NGO Award by Nagpur Municipal Corporation during Republic Day ceremony.

Green Vigil Foundation has conducted more than 100 campaigns towards sustainability & green living and has been actively involved in various initiatives taken by Nagpur Municipal Corporation towards  protection of environment of Nagpur city, such as, save NagNadi&PiliNadi campaigns, energy conservation campaign during PoornimaDiwas, campaign towards save our natural resources including lakes during visarjans, environment workshops at NMC schools, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and many more.

Dr. Kavita Rattan, Founder President, Green Vigil Foundation stated, Best NGO Award from Nagpur Municipal Corporation is a huge moral boost for her team. She explained, Green Vigil has been working on educating citizen about the urgent need to protect the environment from irreversible damage we have caused and various ways to combat them, at individual level, initiating with extending their hands to create a mass movement to save the planet earth.

The Award was presented by Hon. Mayor of Nagpur City, Shri. Pravin jiDatke. Prominently present during the award ceremony were Deputy Mayor of Nagpur Shri. MunnaJiPokulwar,  Shri. Dayashankarji Tiwari – Ruling Party Leader, Shri. Rizwan Siddiqui – Deputy Commissioner, Shri. Prakash Urade and other senior NMC officials and staff.

The program was conducted by Shri. Mahesh Moroney , Asst. Commissioner, NMC. Kaustav Chatterjee ,Co-Founder, received the award along with Daksha Borkar, SurbhiJaiswal and other members of Green Vigil foundation.
