Nagpur: Staring lasciviously at the girlfriend of a goon cost a truck driver his life as he was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon in Ganga Jamuna (Red Light) area in the wee hours of Thursday. The accused murderer was nabbed by Lakadganj police within hours of the crime.
According police, the deceased, Vijay Bahadur Yadav (21) was a native of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Vijay was passing through the Red Light area around 2.30 am on Thursday. He saw the accused goon Sagar Shivlal Yadav (21), resident of Shantinagar, talking to his girlfriend near Ram Mandir near divider on Cement Road in Red Light area. Vijay stopped there and started staring the girl lasciviously. Vijay’s leering upset the accused Sagar Yadav and he attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon and killed him on the spot. Sagar then fled the spot. A team of Lakadganj police rushed to the spot on being informed and sent body of Vijay to Mayo Hospital for autopsy. Cops mounted a search for the accused Sagar Yadav and succeeded in nabbing him within hours of the crime.
Lakadganj police have booked the arrested accused Sagar Yadav under Section 302 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
